Management Of Skin In Winter Season

Winter season welcomes Christmas, snow falls, and crisp air along with special care for the skin. There is alteration in temperature that due to low humidity the hair and the skin needs special attention too. Extreme winter can affect the skin in a negative way. And managing skin in winters can sometimes be demanding.

The skin has to be properly safeguarded against winter miseries. The main thing that happens in wither is the ripping up of moisture from the skin, as a result, the skin becomes dry, flaky and itchy too. One can see the fine lines that develop on the skin surface.

Here are some tips and ways suggested to take care of the skin in winter time:-

One can make use of humidifier so as to protect the skin from becoming sticky and dry. By using a humidifier the moisture is retained back on the skin. The skin also gets prevented from cracking and peeling. Always invest in a branded humidifier and place it in a correct place.

The skin has to be hydrated properly in any season of the year. Re-hydrate the body with good amount of liquids, water, juices. Reduce the intake of alcohol and caffeine. One can drink herbal tea or mixture of honey and lime in water. During winter, oil based moisturizer works the best, as these remains for a longer time on the surface of the skin.

The ointment form is the best. This forms a blockade and prevents the moisture from draining out of the body. One can go for a cocoa butter moisturizer or baby oil after a bath. Apply evenly on all the surfaces, especially the exposed ones like the hands and the arms. While going out, use the SPF 8 or 15 one for protection against sun.

The skin could be exfoliated twice a week with a gentle exfoliater. Ensure that the body is also moisturized from inside by flax seed oil, you can even use cod liver oil too. Infused baths also works wonders. Bathing in aromatic oils, jojoba oils will revitalize the body. Avoid wearing woolen or synthetic fiber clothes directly. This can irritate the skin. Wear them on the layer of cotton clothing. Sleep tight and for chapped lips use a lip balm.
