Myths About Time And Stress Management

Studies show that stress is the biggest cause of all health problems. To bring your stress level down you need to exercise, increase your productivity and relax. But remember, all of this needs time. Time management and stress management are inter-related. Here are some myths about time management:

Myth 1 :
Planning my time takes more time:
This is wrong because once you have made a plan you are going to add only the important jobs to be done and in the process waste less time on unimportant tasks.

Myth 2:
You need to work more:
This is a myth. You need to know the difference between what is being done and should be done. You maybe doing what is urgent and not what is important. Instead of working more you need to work smart.

Myth 3:
If I get up early, it will help:
This will only help if you sleep early. Lack of sleep can make you dull and less efficient. It will make you take more time in finishing your task. Taking 10 to 15 minutes nap in the afternoon or whenever required can be energy boosting.

Myth 4:
First finish the small tasks and then get to the bigger ones:
By the time you reach to the bigger ones you are left with less energy or no energy at all. Most of us find the bigger tasks more daunting, for this matter you can break the bigger task into smaller portions.

Myth 5:
Work fast to get more done:
You will be left exhausted and are highly unlikely to finish the job well. Remember, Haste makes waste.

Time is like a bank. Every morning you are credited with 86,400 seconds and every night you loose what you have not used. There is no balance carried ahead and no permission of over drafts. Hence, use your time to your best advantage and invest it wisely.
