Personal Care During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a journey that completes womanhood to motherhood. No joy can come closer to the experience of motherhood. It’s true that during pregnancy the face glows with a golden radiance. People that are closer to the expecting lady shower their love on both the mother and the baby.

It is indeed one of the most memorable phase in any woman’s life, a time that would be always cherished. During this time a lot many hormonal changes and developments takes place in both the mother and the baby. These hormonal fluctuations can create havoc on the skin and hair of the expecting mother. But one can also say that the glow that results is also on account of this hormonal change.

One of the most common problems in pregnancy is thinning down of hair. But after pregnancy one can go for hair stimulation treatment and again the hair thickness can be restored. Some other problems are of stretch marks. This happens because of weight that is gained all of a sudden and the layer of stretches appears. Some of the most common area where these marks appear prominently are near breasts, abdomen and thighs. The best way to reduce these ugly marks is with the application of aloe Vera, olive oil and vitamin A. Other problems of dry and flaky skin can be lessened by the application of moisturizer.

Formation of Acne also happens due to over secretion of oil glands. The excess oil can be removed by washing the face with a mild cleanser. Rashes can be managed by the generous application of calamine lotion. It soothes the skin. Some times due to hyper pigmentation dark spots also results on the skin surface. For this a sunscreen with SPF 25 or above is recommended. Pigmentations might get disappeared with time. But medicated creams are more helpful in this regard.

After the birth the oil massages that are given to the new mother helps to build back the structure and have good effects on the skin and relax the body too. The nail during this phase becomes extremely brittle, but with regular massage with olive oil one can restore the strength of the nails. Diet is a major factor and one cannot ignore that. The diet should be well balanced and should have all the essential nutrients needed for the mother and the baby. Multivitamins are the best options to make the losses of the deficient vitamins and minerals. But apart from this a regular exercising regime ensures the overall fitness of the pregnant mother and the baby.
