Preventing Bad Breath

The causes of bad breath could be many, but with little care one can easily control bad breath. Here are the guidelines by which you can easily manage bad breath, but in case of chronic condition it is advised to see a dentist help.

The first and the foremost way of managing bad breath is by brushing the teeth twice daily. Also see that you have flossed the teeth right after brushing, particularly after meals, it quite natural that the teeth may retain food particles. The tongue has to be brushed properly too, a tongue cleaner or scrapper is the best way to clean the tongue. After this the mouth should be rinsed off properly with a nicely flavored mouth wash.

One should make it a point to visit dentist on a regular basis. It is important that the oral health is maintained and complete examination is done by able dentist. In case of any dental problems like tooth decay, abscessed teeth or abscessed gums make it a point to visit the doctor and get the treatment immediately. One of the most common kitchen remedies for bad breath is chewing parsley after meal. Parsley is also known as natural breath freshener.

Another way is by placing tea tree oil on tongue or few drops of peppermint oil and using it with the toothpaste. Now day’s toothpastes are available in various flavors. Pick one which has natural oils and similarly use mouth rinse, they work very well. They have antibacterial properties which help in fighting halitosis. Quit smoking, this should be the foremost step for smokers. Smoking not only leads to bad breath but periodontal disease also happens due to it. Food that causes bad breath like, onions, garlic, broccoli, coffee, and other spices should be consumed in fewer quantities.

Make use of sugarless gum, mouth fresheners, sprays to keep the mouth cleansed all over the day. One can occasionally use mix of hydrogen peroxide with water in equal quantities, but do not over use it.
