Reiki And Its Evolution

Reiki is a healing technique which makes use of hands. It treats a person, spiritually, physically and mentally. Mikao Usui of Japan in the 20th century developed this technique of healing. It derives its name from the soul “Rei” and “life force energy” that is the “ki”. It is also termed as “soul energy”.

Technique used in reiki:-
It is one of the oldest techniques that has not changed since it emerged. Even the practitioners who make use of it for healing and curing make use of their hands and palms for treatment. According to them the energy flows out from their hand and then gets transferred on the specific body parts, this in turn eases healing. The technical facets are explained in terms of energies and auras.

Application of reiki-
Some other school of thought opines that the energy of reiki comes in the practitioner from the seventh crown or chakra. It then again goes to the fourth crown and then flows from the healers hand to the recipient’s body.

Another thing that is taught is that the energy from reiki goes to the root that is the spine, loads the aura while getting centered in the heart which is the fourth crown. And it finally comes out of the practitioners hands. People even say that it an intelligent form of energy and knows how to work and when.

Reiki believer’s say that if the recipients requires it and is willing to be healed then the energy from reiki will be directed to the place of healing. But they also say that if the recipient does not absorbs the energy properly at certain level then the healing may not take place.

In this the recipients lie down on a table and relax. The reiki energy is then purported from the practitioner to the patient. The healer moves his/her palms to the different parts of the body. The receivers have reported various feelings and sensations like, pressure, heat, tickly felling, cold etc. the healers say that these feelings are on account of energy fillings. The negativity is then pulled out of their body.

Some superior practitioners are also capable of chanelising this energy through their vision and breathing. According to the practitioners their energy could be used either from nearness or at an appropriate distance.

Reiki does not have any scientific base. Though reiki is practiced in rarity in Japan but is more popular in the west.
