Remain Healthy in Cold Weather

Winter is indeed fun. But, well, how can we forget the winter doldrums? Yes, you are right, the same old story of cough & cold, bouts of fever, bed rest and the various methods and prescriptions to enhance our immunity against these dreadful diseases. We can hardly keep a check on our colleagues or close-ones regarding their cough & cold matters. But we can certainly take measures to keep ourselves immune from it. You cannot expect summer to stay on forever. Hence, gear up for the winter season, before you find yourself tied to the bed.

Following are the simple tips for your safety from the shackles of the cold weather.

Your diet is a big deal as far as immunity is concerned. Help yourself with sufficient amounts of green vegetables, two or three glasses of milk, fresh fruits and adequate amounts of whole grains as well. But sadly, many of us do not even bother to pay proper attention to such regular high protein meals.

Multivitamins are a good back up. Obviously they are always better than nothing. It is advisable that you check your multivitamins before having it. All you need to do is, empty some amount of vinegar in a bowl. Then place this bowl inside an even larger bowl in which you normally boil water so that the vinegar gets heated indirectly. Boil it till some 98 degrees. Continue heating and keep it for around 30 minutes. You can then add the multivitamin in the vinegar. Keep churning the vinegar after every five minutes. Be careful if you are using a toothpick. Make sure it is not touching the tablet. If the tablet fails to liquefy in 30 minutes then the simple conclusion is that it is not suitable for you.

Sleep for sufficient amount. Don’t just blindly follow the doctor’s advice and sleep only for the suggested time. Try to understand how much your body requires. This varies from person to person. So someone might need to rest for six hours or even ten hours. So, let your body decide the time limit.

A simple and easy workout such as jogging enhances the creation of microphages which are the kind of cells that strike the bacteria. Regular workouts keep your body activated, thus allowing the immune cells to flow in the body at a faster rate which in turn increases the resistance power of the body.

Your hands need to be rinsed thoroughly quite often. Don’t just hurry and get over with it. Properly cleanse it. Use the soap and apply all over to the wrists. Keep in mind about the dirt inside your fingernails as well between the fingers. Scrub your hands for around 15-20 seconds. Then wash it off properly. This way the entry of foreign bacteria is prevented a lot.
