Risks of Drugs
Drugs work like sedatives; they make the muscles inactive, making the abuser prone to accidents. A drug addict usually dies of an over doze of drugs. What basically happens is that the excess of drug makes the whole body slow down, sometimes sending the user into coma and sometimes killing him, as while the person is still breathing but he can choke himself to death.
All drugs are intoxicating; the abuser can either injure himself or the other person. For example- after using LSD the user may start thinking that he can fly and jump out of the window or use of Ampheopamine may make the user loose grip on reality and make him commit unthinkable crimes.
Taking drugs through injections is the most dangerous method. It hits harder and can sometimes be fatal. If taken orally it takes several hours for the body to digest the drug. The effects of the drug are slow, if taken orally. Injections can also cause ulcers on the skin, punctured veins or infection of AIDS and septicaemia.
In order to increase there profits suppliers generally sell adulterated drugs. The substance added to these drugs can be poisonous and contaminated, which can cause infection, nausea and vomiting. The user cannot know as to what they are taking and how strongly it will affect them. Sometimes, the same doze can become fatal.
Mixing drugs is also very common. At times it is done for the sake of adventure and sometimes to come down from a stimulant but drugs- even those with opposite effects if taken singly- do not counter act each other and increase intoxication.
Different drugs have different effects on the body. Over doze of certain drugs is not fatal but there are drugs like glues and solvents, which have a very thin margin between doze and over-doze. Slight carelessness can cause tragic consequences.
