Romance During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a beautiful phase for a woman yet she becomes moody, feels dull and sick and sometimes hardly feels like enjoying anything. You ask a pregnant woman how romantic she feels during pregnancy…it will be a tired shrug.

She will be just waiting to lie down and have some rest…romance is really not on the cards. For a pregnant woman there are several fears, one that sex may hurt the baby or any particular position may cause miscarriage or any other problem.

But as important as your feelings during pregnancy are think of what your partner is going through. He may begin to feel left out, lonely and the extreme may be infidelity. To avoid these negative feelings try to be romantic at least once in a while and make him feel special. Remember unless if you have been told by your medical practitioner not to have intercourse, having sex is fine.

Do not worry about your baby being crushed by the weight of your partner or getting disturbed by your romance. The baby is quite safe inside and the amniotic fluid absorbs shock quite well. So do not worry, make your husband feel special, he will not mind your growing stomach because he will have the joy of two people cuddling him.

Always remember that once the baby arrives you will have to pay a lot of attention to the baby. It will take most of your time and energy and while changing diapers, romance will be a very far off thought. So enjoy some time together, hugging, kissing, caressing, loving and being loved…both you and your partner need it always. Try to take some time off together, renew your relationship, plan a few romantic nights and keep the romance alive.

Accepted, you may not feel up to it but relationships are made they just don’t happen. You need to work hard to have a strongly bonded marriage and you will never regret it. It is important to be careful during the last few weeks of pregnancy but the fourth to seventh months are perfectly safe. If it is your first baby involve your husband also and let him feel the kicking and watch the ultrasounds with you. He will be proud to be a father soon.
