Sensitive teeth? Treat them the right way!
Treat your teeth well to prevent sensitive teeth!
Not many people are really aware of what they can do to treat their teeth well. But if you are on of those people who care about their teeth then this is the article for you. Please take a look at what you can do to make sure that your teeth are as well care for as possible.
For example you can start with the following-
Brush your teeth the right way. For years, we’ve been taught that the harder we scrub the better and cleaner our teeth, the better they will be! But that’s not true and we know it now. The outer most coat of all teeth is made up of a hard layer called as enamel and it is responsible for protecting the teeth from any sudden temperature changes and even changes in acidity in the mouth. But the harder you scrub the greater the chances that this hard outer coat will be moved off the teeth and the inner layer of soft dentine will be exposed. For most patients this will result in a painful tingling sensation as differences in temperature and acidity start reaching the sensitive inner nerves of a tooth.
Can it be avoided?
Of course it can, this problem is one that can be easily avoided with the simple use of a soft bristled toothbrush. Check the packaging of the toothbrush before you buy it and make sure that you learn a simpler and much gentler method of brushing your teeth from your dentist. You can also use de-sensitizing toothpastes that are present in the market like Colgate Sensitive. But the method of use is slightly different than ordinary toothpaste. Take a pea sized amount of the tooth paste and apply it on the sensitive area. Leave it there for ten minutes and then use a soft bristled toothbrush to clean your teeth. You can also ask your dentist to cover up the sensitive areas that are present on your teeth with white colored-fluoride leaching restorative material called as GIC cements. The sensitivity does recede but it takes a little time.
