Exercise and diet control are the keys to becoming slim and fit. Also, its very important that they go hand in hand. Here are some fitness tips that you should keep in mind while trying to loose weight:
Set sensible goals:
The most important thing before you start your weight loss program is to set a goal which is achievable. Setting unreasonable goals will not only make you loose interest very soon but will also make you feel depressed.
Eat fiber rich food:
Such foods contain minimal fat. Moreover, they are more filling than other foods so people tend to eat less after consuming them. For this reason, eat lots of salad before your main meal. Also, Instead of taking out the juice,prefer eating the fruit itself.
Cut down on calories and fat:
Make sure you roast and steam foods instead of frying them. Take small servings of food high in fat or calories and bigger portions of greens, sprouts and fruits. Fish and chicken is a better option than red meat. Also, avoid drinking alcohol.
Take smaller portions:
Both quantity and quality are required while eating. The key to fitness is not only the type of food but also the quantity we consume. Eat slowly chewing every morsel. This will help you in eating less. Another thing you can do is eat from a smaller plate, this way you can keep track of the quantity going in.
Eat a variety of foods:
The more colorful your plate the better it is. Remember, we cannot get all the nutrients from one type of food so we need variety, plus eating the same thing every day can become very boring.
Exercise:
When we eat less our body becomes slow and goes in a starvation mode. To increase the rate of metabolism we need to exercise. Start with a fifteen minute regime and then gradually increase the time to 45 minutes everyday. You don’t need to join fancy gyms or trainers. You can go for jogging, swimming; brisk walking etc. The idea is to burn more calories than you eat.
In the end I will also like to add that most of the people who are over weight usually eat out of boredom. Hence, it’s very important to keep yourself busy and your mind occupied.
