The students of today times are extremely busy with their college, academics and study schedule. But that doesn’t mean that one should give staying healthy and give up exercising. It is important to take time even in busy schedule for overall maintenance of health. “A healthy mind lives in a sound body”, is a well known proverb. Spending the entire day over books and meeting other needs can lead to stress. Here are some simple ways which any student can squeeze from his/her tight schedule and can be healthy.
Walk- Walk doesn’t mean that you spend long hours strolling in the garden. Be intelligent and tactful, you can go on foot while visiting a near by grocery store, friends house, or even take your pet out for a walk. A 20-30 minutes walk everyday alleviates stress levels.
Do simple exercise- Staying healthy doesn’t mean that you need to splurge on costly workout equipment like dumbbells and other fitness equipments. Even bottles filled with water can be used as dumbbells. Be innovative and put the thinking caps on. A simple bench chair or table could be used as exercise equipment. The trick is to look for stuffs that are around you and be resourceful with them.
Buy or rent yoga DVD’s- Yoga is believed to be the most wonderful kind of workout. It works on all the body parts and the best thing is that one doesn’t need to spend on any equipment for doing it. Rent a DVD or you can invest in one and can practice daily by seeing it instead of enrolling in expensive gyms.
College or community health centers- Most of the community and college have physical education department. The advantage is that one gets course credits with certification which acts as added advantage in academics. One can make most of the free time in community centers, they have very reasonable fee and are equipped with most of the basic equipments. The facilities are open for most of the time.
