Machines and fitness equipments are safe than free weights- Most of us believe that machines are secure to be used as they are guided but this is untrue. Most of the machines are designed to work on one kind of muscle instead of stabilizing all the muscle. The entire body along with the muscle is supposed to work together. All the body parts need support of one another to function; this is applicable on muscles too. While certain muscle gets build by machine workout the other are however weakened. Most of the injury happens due to faulty training program of gym.
Fat from one particular part can be removed by working on that part- Most of us are so smitten by this spot reduction technique that we fail to look beyond what is right and wrong. Fat deposit on individuals has to do with genes and body type. In order to burn the fat the workout should have both the cardiovascular and strength training program. Only then the overall body fat gets reduced.
Get six pack with crunches- This comes under the misconception no.2. Apart from this “six pack” is replication of strong core which is untrue. The six packs or the rectus abdominis helps to bend forward and brings the rib cage and pelvis closer. The large amount of time spent on such muscle is futile. The core muscles are meant to give stability for twisting and strength, its better to know about them from a qualified professional.
Lower calories means easy to lose weight- Limiting calorie intake will make one calorie deficient. The muscle mass is forfeited for body fat by restricting calorie intake. Crash dieting can damage the adrenal and thyroid hormones.
Weights make women bulky-Testosterone is present in males in large quantities while in females in lower ratio. Females do take up weight training and give up. They think that they are developing the bulk which is nothing but muscle soreness.
