Stay Beautiful Over Forty

Turning forty does not mean that your youthful look has to go. Here are some tips to help you stay looking great as you age.

Stay Active:
To stay fit you need to keep moving. But going to the gym can be very boring so join a class like dancing, kayaking or join groups that are involved in some physical activities. As we age, we tend to sit more, this makes us burn less calories.

Be more with positive people:
Positive emotional state can help ward off diseases and even prolong life. Researchers have found a relationship between a person’s attitude and their physical as well as mental health. People who are happy and positive are healthier.

Stop smoking:
It not only ages you fast but also cuts short your life by seven to eight years.

Support group:
Surround yourself with people who love you and support you no matter what, People with whom you can share your joys and sorrows. Always tell them how much you love them. Also, make sure you keep only cheerful friends.

Don’t go in the sun too much:
Too much sun increases the rate at which the skin wrinkles. Use sun screen regularly and creams with retinoid. Drink lots of water to keep the skin supple. You need to keep your body hydrated. You should also take a glass of red wine everyday. It prevents your cells form aging.

Keep your mind engaged:
It has been proved that many brain problems can be diminished by keeping the brain stimulated. Learn new things. An idle mind is a devils workshop and that devil is ‘Alzheimer’s’.

Laugh a lot:
People don’t stop laughing when they get old but they get old when they stop laughing. Laugh until your eyes water and you gasp for breath. Be thankful and grateful for what you have. You are old if you feel old. So feel young at heart.
