Patients of urinary bladder infection always feel an irresistible urge to urinate when the bladder is empty. Nausea associated with vomiting is also a very common symptom.

In case of women, the urethra is shorter in length than that of men. Hence, there is more risk of infections. The bacterium is pushed inside through the urethra to the bladder. This also causes infection and complications during pregnancy. This causes infection in the mother and well as the fetus.

The male urethra is a long, elongated tube. It is practically difficult for the bacteria to push themselves inside the tube. These are urinated and excreted. But, while moving through the urethra towards the prostate, the bacteria can cause enough of infections. The bacteria remaining in the prostate multiply and cause further infection.
