The Effects Of Age On Your Body-I

With time you see a lot of changes in you. When you look in the mirror you find fine lines and wrinkles. Time takes its toll on you both outwardly and inwardly. Here is a brief summary of what to expect.

Your bones start shrinking in size and density after the age of 40:
This shrinkage causes fractures, brittle bones and shortness of height. You also start loosing the strength of your muscles. Try to strengthen your muscles with regular exercise and increase your intake of calcium and muscles. Go for your bone density checkup regularly. Through medication you can control the loss of bone density.

Digestive system:
The flow of secretions from your stomach, lever, pancreas and small intestines may decrease, causing constipation, bloating or heart burn. Add fiber in your diet, eat fruits and green veggies, drink plenty of water and be active. Try to have a healthy lifestyle.

Kidney, bladder and urinary tract:
A loss of bladder control is also seen as we age. Obesity, constipation, lower levels of estrogen, chronic coughs and prostrate are some reasons of causing urinary incontinence. Improve your pelvic muscles and try to avoid gaining weight. Early detection helps a lot so go for medical checkups regularly.

Cardiovascular system:
Age starts showing its impact on our cardiovascular system also. Bad food habits, stress, lack of exercise push it further. We cannot change our age but by controlling other factors we can improve the health of our heart. Eat foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids, anti oxidants, fiber and foliate. Add lots of fruits, veggies, fish etc in your diet. Try to control your weight by regular exercise.

Brain degeneration:
This is another problem which catches up while you age. You need to build up your brain and this can be done by stimulating your mind. Try new things, play checkers, use computer, do puzzle games or join a hobby class in pottery craft and drawing etc. Not only mental exercise but physical exercise is also important as it increases the blood circulation.

Sleep:
Sleep patterns and requirements change throughout a person’s life. People require less sleep as they age but sometimes it can be due to variety of medical and psychological disorders. Try to discuss it with your doctor as lack of sleep can lead to many health problems. Restrict the intake of tea and caffeine, large meals before sleep.
