The Stages After The Death Of A Parent

Parents are the closest people in our life. If any one of them passes away for any reason its very difficult to cope with suck situations. Your parents are the one’s who take care of you all the time, shows concern and care towards you and also loves you the most in this world.

When such a lovable person passes away it becomes difficult to console the agonized heart.  Your life might even change after the death of a parent. Generally girls are more attached to their mother and losing a mother at a young age is also very difficult.

How Do You Feel?


It is pretty obvious that for few days you will feel very somber and morose after the death of your parent. You may not be able to concentrate on anything properly and there will be constant distraction in your work. Your life can start changing. Till date you were depended on your mother for everything but now you have to take care of yourself and also your family.

You might not be able to take the reality and you tend to become very aggressive and lose temper easily. You will suddenly become will lonely and whatever you used to share with you parent you will find difficulties in talking to anyone properly. You will not be in a mood to go to your school or college and will be in a very somber mood and you will have a tendency to becoming nostalgic at times.

How Do You Cope With This Situation?


It is really not very easy to forget the one whom you love so much so easily. It has a very long lasting impression in your mind and heart. Try not to spend time alone and be with your friends. The more you are alone the more you will think of your parent whom you lost recently. But this does not mean that you will forget her and enjoy your life.

It is true that some change will come in your life style and you will have thoughts which you never had earlier. If you want to cry you can do that because at time it can help. If there is no outburst of emotions then the pain increases more. Therefore as you are cry you’re letting all the pent up feelings go. Release them instead of keeping them.

How Does Your Life Change?


If your mother passes away you are now entitled with the responsibility of looking after your father who generally finds himself very lonely and in a melancholy situation. If you have siblings and you are the eldest in the family you will have to do your duties towards them. In fact after the death of a parent you become more responsible, practical and also thoughtful.

You will see these changes in yourself and you might not get a lot of support from your relatives. You don’t need to do everything that your parent used to do but at least try and be supportive towards other members of the family so that they don’t feel the absence.
