Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid cancer is the cancer of the throat. This cancer happens when the thyroid cells develop into abnormal ones, the growth becomes uncontrollable and it gradually turns into tumor. The thyroid cancer is of 4 types. All this depends on the appearance of cell under the microscope. Negligence can spread it to other body parts.
The thyroid gland resembles a butterfly shape and is found in the base of the throat. It consists of 2 lobes, the left lobe and the right lobe. The thyroid glands are responsible in production of hormones that regulate the heart rate, temperature of the body, blood pressure mad other body metabolism.
The hormones that are produced in the thyroid influence the nervous system, organs, and muscles. They are important for regulating growth in kids and other bodily development. The main mineral is iodine which the gland makes use of. This iodine is found in certain foods and salts and is used for the production of hormones. Some of the major condition which most of the people suffer is overactive or under active thyroid gland. They are known as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
In certain cases lump formation also happens in these glands. Approximately 95% of these lumps are benign ones, but that doesn’t mean that these nodules should be neglected. Females carry the risk thrice than men, of developing this condition. The majority of cases are 50+ aged patients but it may also happen in young adults.
