Tips And Advice Before Buying A Suit-II
Here are some more tips to consider while buying a suit:
You need to decide what kind of jacket you want—single or double breasted, two piece or three piece. The base of any jacket is either double breasted or single breasted. A single breasted jacket has a single row of buttons and the flaps don’t overlap whereas a double breasted has a double row of buttons and the front overlaps. Though the single breasted is more popular as it gives a slimmer look to people who are on a larger side.
Another thing which must be taken in consideration is the shape of the shoulders of a jacket. A jacket with too much of padding can make your neck and head look small where as narrow shoulders can make your head look bloated. By accurate padding and sloping of the shoulders the jacket can increase and decrease the size of your body and the height by a few inches.
The lapels of a jacket can be peaked, shawl, unconventional or notched. The style of the lapel is according to the cut of the jacket. The width of the lapel is according to the trend.
Waist buttons are usually where the lapels end. The numbering of the buttons is usually one to four. The two button suit is a new addition and can give a slimmer look. A four button jacket looks good on tall men.
The perfect length of a jacket is when you put your arms to your side with palms toward you; your fingertips should reach the bottom of the jacket hem. The length of the sleeves should also be right. Long sleeves can give a borrowed impression. The sleeves of the jacket should show half an inch of your shirt cuff.
Not much is needed to tell you about the trouser of your suit as you buy it regularly. However, the waist line should be comfortable. Pleats are good for people with pot bellies. The length of your trouser should reach your shoe and have a slight break. If you want to give a taller appearance don’t go for a cuffed look.
The fit of your suit should be comfortable and the movement of your arms should not be restricted.
