Diet and exercises play an important role in gaining muscle. No matter how much you stick to a high calorie diet, it will be practically impossible to gain muscle mass if you don’t practice regular exercises. Let us start with diet.
Diet in gaining muscle mass: Protein and carbohydrate are the main materials you need to incorporate in your daily diet to gain muscle. The order of calculation should be like 1 gram of protein for 1 pond of the body weight. The diet should be high on protein and carbohydrate content and low on fat. Protein can be obtained from meat, chicken, soya, yoghurt, nuts, milk products and eggs. Rice and grains, on the other hand, are rich in starch and carbohydrate. Indulge in high protein food like cottage cheese and milk. But, these should all be low on fat.
Exercise: First of all, decide on the muscle you want to work on. You must choose the muscle you wish to tone up and then work on that particular muscle. To tone up the arms and the thighs, you can practice squat and crunches. Cardiovascular exercises are also important in gaining muscles. Remember, losing fat is important before gaining muscle mass. Also, practice warm up exercises like stretching before going on to the strenuous ones like push ups or dumb bell lifting. Walking and jogging also helps in losing fat and are good cardio exercises.
Increase your fluid intake: As we all know, exercises releases water from our body in form of sweat. So, a lot of fluid intake is extremely necessary in maintaining the hydration level.
