Protein is an essential nutrient needed by your body to build new muscle. Hence include more protein based food items in your diet. Some rich sources of protein are meat, fish, cheese, chicken, tofu, nuts, bacon, corned beef, soy and soy products, whey, peas, milk and other dairy products.
