What Is Asthma?
Asthma is a chronic lung condition that leads to obscurity in breathing. This happens basically due to restriction and tapering of the muscles that surrounds the air ways. Other associated conditions are inflammation, discomfort, enlargement in the air ways. It has been observed that more than 22 million people across the world suffer from this condition and the number is gradually on rise with increase in pollution and other lifestyle factors.
Types of asthma:-
There are different types of asthma and in order to get the exact treatment one has to know the kind of asthma. Here are the various types:-
Allergic asthma
Exercise induced asthma.
Occupational asthma
Cough variant asthma
Nocturnal asthma
Causes of asthma:-
Over the past recent years the number of asthma patients is increasing. The exact cause of asthma still remains unknown, but it is believed that numerous factors act together to cause the condition.
Here are the causes:-
In case of family history with asthma the chances of the condition increases.
Some persons are atopic they have the tendency to develop allergy easily.
The condition may also trigger if certain respiratory infections are contracted in the early childhood.
Allergens like animal dander, viral infections etc with the development of the immune system, the condition may develop.
Obesity and Allergic rhinitis.
Exposure to smoke in from of pollution, cigarettes etc and even the hyperactivity of the airway can lead to the condition.
Symptoms of asthma:-
With constriction and inflammation in patients the patients may experience some of eth following symptoms like frequent cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, tightness in chest, problem in normal breathing.
The asthma may vary among different people. There may be change in symptoms with variations in intensity too. In case of any emergency please seek the medical help. And always stay away from self medication.
