What Is Insomnia?
Insomnia is a disorder of sleep. In this disorder the person experiences inadequate or poor-quality of sleep. This may happen due to difficulty in falling asleep, waking up early in the morning, disturbed sleeps at nights, difficulty in staying asleep etc.
The person feels exhausted the very next day and feels that she/he did not had enough sleep. Poor sleep in any case can lead to mood swings, disturbances in work, it also affects the daily routine and the working ability. One may also find lack of motivation, trouble with concentration, and extremely low energy with fatigue.
The people who suffer from it are called as insomniacs. It can effect at any age. Insomnia may vary from restlessness in sleep to reduction in sleeping time and under extremities may also result in complete sleeplessness. This condition is not a disease or an ailment. The symptoms may vary among different people and may arise due to chronic illness, stress, jet lag etc.
Almost 1/3 of human life is spent in sleeping. Sleep is vital for the overall health and vitality to human life. A good sleep is very important for the normal and optimal functioning of the brain and other parts of the body.
How to know that you suffer from insomnia?
If you have crankiness or feel sluggish during the working hours of the day, if your head is heavy, if even after getting up you still feel tired in the morning, if you are sleepy but not able to sleep, it you have got up numerous time at night while sleeping and have trouble in falling sleeping, then you are suffering from insomnia.
The best way is to head straight to the bed and get asleep. One can even seek the help of doctor who can help and guide with proper medications.
