Winter Care Tips

Winter is here! Its time to take care of your skin when you go out for work and when there’s the nip in the air. The skin in this season definitely feels itchy; it becomes dry and flaky too. During winter season your skin needs extra nourishment and extra care.

The basic and the foremost precaution is to stay away from soaps, even if you make use of them see that they have high moisturizing content. The better choice would be with a cream body wash. It is best recommended as it will purify and cleanse your skin without ripping off the moisture.

If your skin is sensitive, then take special care and see that there is no added fragrance in it. Another thing is avoid taking too many showers in a day and never ever skip the moisturizing routine. For extremely dry skin milk cream is the best. It is always suggested to stock up body cocoa butter, that has Vitamin E or coconut extracts. For normal and dry skin a facial that is rich with vitamin E is advisable. Superior moisturizing creams are very good during this part of the year.

People those who have oily skin should use oil free products and the moisturizing creams should be water based. One of the common problems during the winters is cracked heels. A pedicure with goodness of sea salts is very good. Mud pack helps in sloughing off the dead skin. The skin is rejuvenated and it further prevents the heels from getting cracked. See that the pedicure that is done restores the moisture of the skin.

A paraffin wax pedicure is ultimate indulgence for the feet in winter. See that you get the pedicure done at least once in a month. Last minute fixes doesn’t work for the feet, particularly for the heels. Before hitting the bed slather the feet with a good quality foot lotion or a mixture of rose water and glycerin. Don’t stay barefooted in the house. Wear slippers.

The hands should be protected by the application of good quality cream or moisturizer. The food should be supplemented with 40% of vegetables and fruits in raw state. The hair gets frizzy on account of winter air and also due to the air conditioner. Give an oil massage to the hair before going for a head bath. Or one can also go for deep conditioning treatment alternate week. Hair strengthening treatment can be done on weekly basis. By following these tips there is no reason to revel in the wonderful cheery winter.
