Yoga For Arms

With regular yogic practice you can tone your arms, make them firm and slender. Try these extremely effective exercises:

Cow Face pose:

1) Sit on the floor on a mat.
2) Cross right leg over left leg keeping both knees in line.
3) Lift right hand back, over shoulder.
4) Simultaneously lift left hand to grasp the right hand. The fingers of both hands must be hooked together.
5) Straighten your body.
6) Look ahead, breathing normally and holding the pose as long as is comfortable.
7) Relax.
8) Repeat the entire sequence with the other leg and hand.
9) If you are not able to hold your hands. Use scarf between your hands.

Prayers pose:

1) Sit in a cross leg pose.
2) Join both hands behind.
3) Place palms against each other with your fingers pointing up( to form a “namaste” behind the back).
4) Straighten body looking ahead
5) Breathing normally hold the pose as long as it is comfortable
6) Release.
You may do it several times a day.

Mountains pose:

1) Sit on your heels kneeling.
2) Lean forward to place palms flat on ground to align it with your shoulder.
3) Inhale. Exhale lift hips off the floor. The knees also lift up.
4) Move head towards floor looking at your belly.
5) Press heels down, feeling the stretch back at your thigh.
6) Hold the pose breathing normally. Release. Rest and repeat three to five times. This is among the most effective poses for toning the arms.

Double angle pose:

1) Stand with meter apart.
2) Flare out feet slightly.
3) Grasp hands behind, interlocking fingers.
4) Inhale. Exhaling bend head down
5) Lift hands up as high as you can, behind you.
6) Hold the pose, breathing normally. Release. Repeat a few times.

Don’t do it if you have a back problem.
